If speed skating is not listed, that means the rink cancelled the speed skating session that day, in this sample, the San Jose Sunday session:

Select the Speed Skating session, add to cart, and make payment. Check the website for any covid requirements. If you have questions about payment, or refunds, you’ll need to contact the rink.

The rink does not rent speed skates. Plan to arrive at the rink 1/2 hour before the start of ice time. You will need to ask around and find a speed skater who can help you with the club’s rental speed skates. Please bring $5 cash to rent the speed skates. Please bring your own gloves and a helmet (any sport helmet.) Have fun!

Please read the speed session rules so you know what to expect.

speed Sessions may return to Oakland Ice Center

Management at Oakland Ice will meet with representatives of the speed skating club to discuss the return of speed skating sessions to Oakland Ice. Currently the only speed skating session is on Sundays from 11:30 am to 1 pm at the San Jose rink. Once the details for the Oakland session are determined, we will post the information here. Please check back frequently.

SAN JOSE RINK RENOVATIONS: 2018 SUMMER SESSION SCHEDULE

Speed sessions are scheduled in San Jose these dates: July 8 and 22; August 5 and 19. San Jose rink’s multi-million dollar renovation has included removing the center and north ice surfaces and the underlying sand, pipes, and dirt to a depth of 10 feet to remove the perma-frost. New dirt and rock were tamped into place, and covered with a layer of sand. Concrete and pipes will be laid in, and finally the surface will be flooded in layers to build up the ice. The rink has worked with the clubs to schedule practices throughout this process. Please enter using the east side doors. The cash register is located there. The rink employees will bring the pads across the parking lot. The skate locker, with the blocks, is in the usual location, in the construction zone at center ice. An employee can accompany anyone who is retrieving the blocks, or looking to rent a pair of speed skates.

Alex Yang Eagle Scout project 2016

Alex Yang’s Eagle Scout Project

 Hey guys!
My name is Alex Yang, and I just wanted to thank you guys so much for financially helping me with my Eagle Scout Project! My goal was to finish five eight-foot redwood picnic tables for the Santa Clara Police Officers’ Association, and I was able to successfully reach this goal! Please allow me to express my gratitude for everyone’s help in this process. Truthfully, I don’t know what I would have done without your help. Thank you so much!!!!! Please take a look at the pictures of the picnic tables and enjoy!
The best skater in this club,
Alexander Yang
