Kimberly at San Jose rink put the speed session BACK on their calendar, because some of our speed skaters are training for Age Group Nationals. Thank you Kimberly!!! They will schedule their hockey Mini Mite exhibition for a different time.

  1. Hello! My son is interested in Speed Skating..He is already on the Gold Mite 8U San Jose Jr. Sharks House League…so he a super experienced skater! Is there a class (Sundays?) that he can register for at San Jose? Oakland on Saturdays is the only website that seems to offer official registration!?? We see Sundays on your website at San Jose ..however no registration is avail at San Jose? We live in Los Gatos so San Jose is much easier for us. Let us know if we can register at San Jose!??

    1. The San Jose session is a public skating session, for speedskaters, hosted by the rink and operated by NorCal Speedskating. The club owns the equipment used on the ice. The club is also required to provide insurance. However, the rink collects the fee, which is paid to the cashier at front counter. Anyone using rental speedskates would pay a rental fee to the club, and not to the rink. There is no “registration” to skate with the club at this session, as it is a “public” session. However, skaters are expected to cooperate with the head coach and skate as directed, for the safety of all participants. Basic lessons are not being offered at this time, while skaters prepare for the final races of the season. Basic lessons will resume in April.
