About NCSA

The Mission Statement of the Northern California Speedskating club is to promote the sport of speedskating as a positive influence and family activity.

The Northern California Speedskating Association was started by a group of skaters who met on March 13, 1988, for the first club skating session. Something clicked, and the group decided to keep the sessions going. Over time we evolved from a group of social skaters who tossed wooden “blocks” out to make a track: no helmets, no pads, no stopwatches; to a dedicated group, training skaters to compete and enjoy skating. Some of the skaters from that first session are still skating today.

NCSA hosts several racing events each year. On alternating years, NCSA hosts the California State Championships.

Our skaters range from 5 to 75 years old. We are a  family friendly organization.  We  have several generations within a family participating in our activities.

NCSA is a 501(C)3 organization, donations are tax deductible.
